Long Covid Help

I heard about this guy from another post here. I have learned so much.
Equally important, the videos make me feeling seen and known and so, less lonely, in dealing with this illness.

I had a look at some of his videos.
He's a personable, articulate, camera-ready guy. He deserves lot of props for, over the five years he's had LC, trying a myriad of treatments, some of them rather drastic, like having much of his blood removed, filtered, and replaced (!).
He seems to have settled upon rather extreme fasting ( you can have small amounts of broth and juice) as a successful--so far--approach for him. He has done this under the supervision of a famous and expensive German retreat spa that specializes in this. He says that he gets no kickback from them, and that you can do this on your own too, so he's not really out to make money (other than from Youtube itself, that is).

I must admit I'm intrigued with the idea of fasting as a means of, in effect, "resetting" or "rebooting" your metabolism. There just might be something to that. I may well explore this further.

Having said that, I'm somewhat unimpressed with his loose treatment of actual science, despite citing many studies, some of which, when I looked at them, came from dubious sources. I think he's prone to faddish "science".
I took exception to his claim that "current vaccines don't actually prevent you from catching Covid" i.e. vaccine denial, and he removed my comment.

I only watched a few of his videos, and they are somewhat informative as well as entertaining. but color me a bit skeptical.

Youtube is now a very powerful vehicle, like social media in general (does that include Youtube?), for anybody with a computer or smartphone to spread any kind of dis/misinformation that they wish to, and often succeed in acquiring large audiences, with associated remuneration (the attention economy).

I'm seeing lots of shysters out there who have jumped on the LC bandwagon, and it's best to keep your guard up. Again, he might have some valid points and info, but I don't think I'll waste much more time on his videos.

IM(oh so)HO...

have you heard of that nicotine patch for LC?? I’ve read so many posts from others using them. With good results.

What I found out:
The nicotine patch comes in 7 mg 14 mg and 21 mg you take a 7 mg patch cut it into three parts so you’re only getting a little over 2 mg per patch and you put that on every morning and you do it for some people do it for a few weeks some do two weeks. I do eight or 10 weeks. Some people actually put the 7 mg patch on but many people say they feel dizzy or headache or nauseous or can’t sleep and have terrible dreams from it being too high of a patch. I began using 1 mg today and I’m hopeful that this is going to kill the cov

You really should look for one of the relevant discussions, not this one. Just search for "nicotine patches" and you'll find some fairly in-depth postings.
