Long Covid Hand and Body Tremors

Posted by yukii009 @yukii009, Jan 4 3:23am

My wife had covid this past Sept. one week after she started getting hand and body tremors. She has had many tests but nothing seems to indicate what is wrong with her. She has tried Gabapetin, Beta blockers. They did not work well with her. The only way she can function is to be on Clonazepam 24/7 and that stops the shaking about 80% . No one seems to know what to do. Anyone have the same problem or maybe a solution.

There are a number of clinical trials currently exploring treatments for long-covid. You might consider seeking one out for treatment of those specific symptoms?

There is a study that links covid to brain blood barrier damage, which results in central nervous system injury. Did she also experience cognitive decline, such as impaired memory? Let us know if you make any progress in getting to the bottom of it.

Hi, I was wondering if her shakiness feels more like an internal tremor or do you actually see her shaking?

Clonazapam has its own risks. The neurologist tried to give that to me as well. I’m glad it helps but it is an addictive drug. I tried it for two weeks and started to feel depressed. There is an informative documentary on benzodiazepines on Netflix. Just proceed with caution. H1and H2 blockers may help. Has been some research on Pepcid ac and cetrizine. One theory is long covid caused a histamine response. I tried these religiously for about 3 weeks. Thought they were helping. Stopped them for last 2 weeks to see. Think I was better on them so gonna try again. Doing my own experiments on myself using medical research so far…started in NAC and NATTOKINASE, tried baby aspirin. Jury still out. Good luck everyone. Nasty virus for many.
