Long Covid and shortness of breath

I have been to many doctors who ruled out many organs. Anyone who knows how to deal with long covid shortness of breath? What do you do?

I have long COVID for 5 yrs and after stellate ganglion block lungs/upper chest tightness/shortness of breath mostly went away. Now, after being exposed to wildfire smoke 5 days (in Mexico, where there was no escaping it due to lack of sealed indoor environments and AC), my SOB is much worse, even though other respiratory symptoms from that exposure such as inflammation and cough are long gone. I am gasping for air some evenings and inhalers do not help...I think my body literally is not getting enough oxygen because that process is broken due to long-COVID; there is no lung constriction causing the issue so that's why inhalers don't work. I cannot get into pulmonology for 2 months. I want to try hyperbaric oxygen but am told pulmonologist is only way to do that. Wondering what do to in the meantime as I gasp for air most evenings.

Have you been checked for histamine intolerance or Mast Cell activation syndrome?

No I haven't. But I've taken quercetin regularly for histamine. Thank you for the ideas!

Laura,
I am having SOB every night too. Antihistamines do help me, but I think it is because I am having histamine intolerance. They allow me to sleep longer before awakening with the SOB and rapid heart beat. But my naturopath is having me take them twice a day (morning and night) which I don't like. I have started histamine reducing probiotics (I am avoiding histamine producing probiotics) slowly and hope to see some improvement in a couple weeks.

Have you looked into that it may be histamine intolerance or mast cell activation syndrome that may be causing the SOB symptoms? This is what I am working on. This SOB/racing heart has happened to me three times (each time lasting three months) after being sick with Covid. It may be due to an imbalance of bacteria in my intestines, thus the probiotics.

Sorry Laura, I repeated some stuff about histamine intolerance. I am new and trying to figure the website out.
