@merrijohnson, Good morning. Regarding your visit to Mayo Clinic. Would that be in Rochester? If so then please take a look at Hope Lodge sponsored by The American Cancer Society. Your oncologist can recommend you and the nurse practitioner or someone else on your team will follow up for you.

It is a positive, nurturing environment. There is also a meditation on Wednesday evenings particularly for caregivers. It is in the Cancer Center on the main floor of Gonda. Let us know what else you may need. And May you have a day of comfort and ease. Chris

Here is link to lodging at Mayo Rochester. You can access the Hope Lodge under Charitable Lodging heading. There is a shuttle that runs to and from the lodge on all weekdays. We used to pass it when we stayed at the Gift of Life transplant House. It is a beautiful facility.

As others have already stated, The Hope Lodge provides accommodation to patients who are undergoing radiation treatment. All you need is to obtain a referral from your Doctor, Oncology nurse or social worker to bring to Hope lodge. If Hope Lodger has no immediate accommodation then they will provide you a list of hotels that offers special discounts to those waiting to get into Hope Lodge. http://www.cancer.org/hopelodgerochestermn; if you have any questions about The Hope Lodge call 507-529-4673.

Hi @1hockeyjeff I see you’re coming to Rochester for several months while undergoing treatment at Mayo.

Earlier this summer another member, @lag630 and her husband, had a similar situaion where they needed longterm lodging and wanted to bring their furry family members along with them. They had found a small home to rent near campus that allowed pets. I’m hoping she’ll be able to chime in and give you a suggestion or two.
