Lodging for Mayo Clinic Rochester MN

Posted by barbim816 @barbim816, Dec 7, 2011

My husband is scheduled for surgery January 27, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Rochester MN. He will be there 5 days. Can anyone recommend a place to stay that is very inexpensive?

We have stayed at the Microtel a couple of times. Ask for the Mayo rate.
Or check on Orbits for a better rate. The Microtel seems to be a good deal.

If the surgery is at Methodist I'd suggest trying to get someplace on the subway or skywalk system in January. Not sure how inexpensive you are looking for but Brentwood Inn and Suites has rooms at around $85 plus tax. Check out

The Kahler Grand Hotel is right by Mayo Clinic, and they have rooms for $95 per night. They also have an underground walkway to the Mayo. It's my understanding this is one of the older hotels in the area and could use some remodeling. It's clean, neat, etc. The Hampton Inn is about two miles away with rooms for $94 per night. They have free shuttle service to and from the Mayo that starts at 6:30 am. Praying your husband's surgery goes well.

Yes, my you have great weather! I go there February 20 to see Dr. Tefferi due to a rare form of leukemia I was diagnosed with in July. I had a few phone conversations with different people in Rochester and they all tell me to be sure and bring warm clothes. I think they can tell I'm from the South ????.

Microtel is great. It's new, clean and cheap. It's a few miles from the clinic but there's a shuttle bus that runs all day to Gonda building and others. Stayed downtown a few time for convenience, but it's not worth the money.

Would anyone know a clean, good priced place to stay by St. Marys Hospital. I am going to Pain rehab and need somewhere to stay for a month.
