Surgery chemo or radiation......but she won't undergo all those treatments.....
Can you tell me what treatments have been suggested? Is the doctor that she is seeing an oncologist?
Hello ...Oncotame is been advised by the doctor ....it was said that the medicine will start working by three months.....my mum has that very pricking pain on her left shoulder and arms ....so the doctor also prescribed painkillers ....so she is taking Oncotame and painkillers
Hi- Let me tell you a bit about myself. I have a type of cancer that has recurrences. So I have had 4 lung cancers over a period of 21 years. I just found out that a new lesion has changed and it might be my 5th. I wont know more until Feb. when I have another CT scan. There are many types of lung cancer. Do you know the type that your mom has? Before we get into my diet I am concerned about your mom taking Oncotame. This is an herbal remedy for metastatic cancer. Has your mom's cancer spread to another part of her body? Was Oncotame prescribed by her doctor? Are there plans for further treatment at all, or has your mom chosen not to do anything but control her symptoms such as pain. My diet isn't very special. I eat in moderation- 4 times a day with protein, starch and fruits and vegetables and nuts/seeds. I drink lots of water. I quit smoking 21 years ago and I really only drink alcohol when I go out to dinner, which isn't as often as I would like. lol. There aren't any special "cancer" diets, really there aren't. We can only strive to stay as healthy as we can. I also walk, and do weights. Even with a very healthy person diet alone wont keep someone well, they have to move. However if your mom has chosen not to have any treatments and ride out the cancer than if I were her I'd eat anything I could tolerate, and anything I'd want.
Yes she was diagnosed with stage 2 lung cancer in the month of May ......can you tell me your diet
Hello. Does your mother have lung cancer? Does your doctor know about the herbal medicine? Please be careful of unauthorized medicine or medicines that haven't been proven to work. Are there plans for any treatments for her? Unfortunately back pain can come from a number of things. Please keep us updated!
She hasn't gone for any surgeries or chemotherapy
We are giving her herbal medicine name Oncotame and as the pain was severe we are giving her painkillers as prescribed by doctor
@samanthaezu, what treatments has she had or is having?
Stage 2
Hi @samanthaezu and welcome to Connect. You'll notice that I moved your message to the main thread of the Lung Cancer group so you can meet others who are living with lung cancer or caring for someone with lung cancer.
You mention that your mom has severe pain on her back and arms, and that you are looking for ways to ease her pain.
It is so hard to see a loved one in pain. I'm going to tag others who may have some thoughts. Please meet fellow caregivers: @burrkay and @cindylb as well as members living with lung cancer such as @merilee @bluelagoon @merpreb and @llwortman
Samantha, can you tell us a bit more about your mom's cancer? What type and stage of lung cancer does she have? What has her cancer care team prescribed or recommended to help manage the pain?
