Live out of town: Considering Mayo for unexplained kidney issues

Posted by rstaehlin @rstaehlin, Feb 4, 2023

I live in the chicago land area. And for the passed 2 years I’ve had a lot of blood in my urine. So much that it’s like a dark brown color. I have had test after test. And nothing shows up. All I know that it’s coming from my left kidney. And pain from my left kidney. I was wondering how could I come to get checked out their. Since I live far away. It’s not like I can stay weeks at a time. I would have to come for a week for test and so on. Does anyone know how I can go about doing this. I have herd Mayo Clinic does things like this. Just not sure what else I can do. My options are running out.

@rstaehlin, am I correct that you have not been diagnosed with kidney disease? It is still unclear what is causing the blood and pain, but it has been confirmed to be a kidney issue? Do I have that right?
