How did you adjust your lifestyle and diet after your diagnosis?

Hi everyone! How did you adjust your lifestyle and diet after your diagnosis? Did you go teetotal, cut out all carbs and red meat? Did you start monitoring your glucose level?

To help improve both short term blood glucose test results as well as a quarterly A1C test, it is suggested that you eat a bit of healthy fat, fiber and protien with the carbs (in this case fruit) to slow down the digestion/absorbtion of the sugar/carbs. This reduces the spike. The second part of the process is to walk, or exercise your largest muscle groups in some other way for 15 minutes following the meal or snack. This will put your muscles to work which uses the glucose from your blood as it is being increased from digestion.

Perhaps those with a much better background in the sciences can elaborate. There is controversy over how much blood glucose actually aids prostate cancer growth, however, good long term glycemic control will reduce other potential comorbidities aka everything that isn't prostate specific mortality, so it is important.

Hey, I eat apples after dinner and blueberries with my oatmeal every single day - I love fruit!
My point, obviously poorly made,🥹was that it is folly to focus on sugar as the “fuel” for cancer. Cake, cookies, strudel…I love’em all and eat them only once in a while in order to maintain a healthy weight. Moderation once again, as always!
Fasting glucose levels can be tricky so I make sure never to have fruit or dessert the night before a blood draw; who wants their PCP on their case about pre-diabetes and all that?
If I had time to burn up that sugar before the test I’d do it, but I’m not a jump out of bed and hit the treadmill kind of guy.

Yep, the best diet is all things in moderation (even moderation needs to be taken in moderation 🙂).
