LIBERTAS research, any news or results?

LIBERTAS is looking at exceptional responders: patients with metastatic castrate-sensitive prostate cancer who showed a rapid PSA decline to a sustained low level after starting ADT + Erleada (it has to have dropped to < 0.2 ng/mL within 6 months). The trial is testing whether it's safe to then pause ADT unless/until PSA rises again to > 10.0 ng/mL.

In my unprofessional opinion, Gleason score would be irrelevant, because any metastatic prostate cancer can be assumed to have had a high Gleason score, but a persistently high PSA would have been disqualifying for the trial: the cancer has to start out metastatic and castrate-sensitive.

Preliminary results are due this fall (though my onco thinks they might delay until January when there's some kind of big conference), and final results are due in fall 2027.

What be included in the study results? Approximately, the intervals between ADT breaks?

@denis76 Yes. Participation in the study is closed now, but as far as I understand, you would have qualified in your situation if you lived in one of the study countries (U.S., Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Mexico, or Poland).

Note that that your oncologist is telling you what's known to be safe now, while LIBERTAS is investigating what might become known to be safe in the future. Everyone participating in the trial is taking a risk to help the rest of us.
