Many of you living with cancer or an autoimmune disease, like me, deal with daily fatigue. You know that exercise is so important to your health, but it’s so hard. There’s always an excuse: it’s too cold or hot, it’s going to rain or it’s raining, or it’s snowy and icy, or I just don’t want to. I, too, have all these excuses, but I have a new rescue dog who wants to go out and who doesn’t care about my excuses! And I’ve got traction devices for my boots.
Now I just need a walking group who will keep me accountable. People who say, ‘let’s go for a walk.’
And I thought: What about my virtual friends on MayoClinicConnect? And Mayo Clinic has an easy 12-week walking program to get us started! Here’s the link:
– Get walking with this 12-week walking schedule
So let’s form a virtual walking group. We can agree to walk every day and encourage each other through Connect. We can walk outdoors, in a mall, or in the red center, or in the hallways of our apartment building.
Who’s in? Who’s going to join me? Come on, Let’s Go Walking!

Even though I walk crooked I keep plugging along. I don’t like to walk in fact I used to drive across the street from where I swam to buy my ice cream. I was having quite a few balance problems today so my anticipated hour walk was only 30 minutes.

@lioness, Linda, dry eye can be uncomfortable so I can relate. However, also while irritating to say the least, glad your eye news was not more serious. My last eye appt. with new guy who I will never see again because he didn't even look in my eyes! just brushed off my constant eye streaming as "dry eye"…whot? and told me to buy some otc drops like Refresh..hmmmm I see a new eye doc in my future! Smiles
@jakedduck1 No I don't remember those as I was only in Van Nuys for a year went back to Pa in 65 Did my chair exercises, hand exercises and Tai Chi no will go for a walk soon. Laundry first Have a good walk
@mayofeb2020 A BLT sounds good right now . Think I,ll have one for lunch. With this covid virus we have to keep up with our walking and other exercises . I just did mine now walk after I do laundry . Glad your feeling o.k. Hope you are wearing mask when out I hear alot from all over not just Orange co arent . We,ve got to stop the spread .
@lioness. I always have mask on. Yes, the people in the beach cities in OC are very, very reluctant to wear masks even though the number of cases are increasing rapidly in those cities. In Irvine, everyone who works in contact with the public and customers must wear masks. A developer had donated one million masks to our city. No idea who or how to get them. Just got back from my walk, a friend dropped off a dozen mangoes, a tray of frozen prawns, and other goodies. I will share them with my neighbors if they want them, I can't eat all that.

No problem, I appreciate your concern.
Hope all is well with you. Don’t have the answers I want yet but if I get them fine if I don’t find.I’ve lived for 53 years with epilepsy and no I knows why I have that so I can live with some idiopathic dizziness too.
Take care,
Jake
