Leg pain after sitting in car

Posted by wonderer098 @wonderer098, Feb 20, 2022

Hi, I have a question to ask. I had a car trip that was about six hours long and was sitting with a box on my lap that was fairly heavy. I fell asleep for about five of the six hours of the car ride, and when I woke up my legs felt a bit numb. I could still move my legs but after I got off the car, my legs began to hurt with my left leg hurting more than my right. I was wondering if it was possible if any irreversible happened to my legs as a result of this incident. It’s been a couple days and I can still walk and move fine but my legs still hurt a bit. I guess I am also wondering if I should see a doctor about this as well. Thank you for taking the time to read this again.

Good afternoon @wonderer098 and a big welcome to Connect. I see this is your first post. Let me figure out how I can help. I don't know how old your are but I am wondering if you ever had someone tell you that 2 hours is about the safe time to be sitting in a moving vehicle with a box on your lap. I think my Dad taught me that and he would automatically pull over and say....OK, everybody out for a stretch. He even did this on our after church rides out in the country.

A great Yoga pose for stiff legs is "Legs up the Wall". You can goggle it or place the phrase in the Search bar at the top of the page. I think I even placed some diagrams at one time. They are still there.

And finally, if you need a reminder.....get a puppy dog.....they will tell you when it is time to take a leg break.

Have you been diagnosed with neuropathy of some kind or are you recovering from an injury?

May you have happiness and the causes of happiness.
Chris
