Left ear thumping to nosies

Posted by katshadow @katshadow, 5 days ago

My left ear thumps to loud noises for example when a close a door turn off or on a light switch or opening and closing caps and sometimes to loud beats in music this just randomly started and my hearing is completely fine as I did a hearing test and it’s just one thump and that’s it however I also noticed that when I yawn I feel crinkling in the ear but that started a bit after the thumping but before I noticed the thumping my left jaw clicked when I talked.

I saw your post and wonder if it is something like what I hear. I am post-radiation head/neck and have some damage to my hearing. I recently got hearing aids that help tinnitus so much. But this low loud noise, I thought was my pulse, I'm hearing when I move my head forward, or get up from lying down. Isn't it hard to describe? since it's a sound only I can hear.

I had an ultrasound of the carotid artery a few years ago. It didn't show anything of concern. For me, this is the area I had cancer so I was relieved.

The other part of it is also what you call a crinkly noise. For me that means my ear canal is blocked on that side. It's like the pressure you get when a plane takes off. There's different ways to relieve. One is chewing gum. I just open my mouth really wide and closed, a couple of times.

So much between ENT, neurology specialties that might help you.
