Knots in muscles

Hi
I am having.
On the inside of my thigh a hard knot that keeps spasming, very painful. Wondering if anyone has ever had this experience. Doing heat and muscle stim. It's let go a
bit but still painful

My original diagnosis nine years ago was fibromyalgia, but three years ago I was diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy by biopsy. So I often wonder if I really have fibromyalgia too. Then I read posts like this. I have painful knots in the muscles I use most, like my arms, thighs and buttocks.
My regular exercise has dwindled down to riding my e-bike, and exercising in the pool. I develop painful knots. My physical therapist performs dry needling on the knots on my outer thighs. It releases the knots, and I get relief until the next appointment. My appointments are every 10-12 days .

If it comes to an antispasmodic, there are 3 that I know of. Cyclobenzaprine, Tizanidine, and Baclofen.

After 40 years for FM, I get muscle spasms in calf, shin gluts, and latest my whole foot (both) totally cramping and I did not know what to do. I do stretches for all the cramps but the foot is a mystery even to my physio. I wear a pair of good indoor shoes all day which really does help.

Yes, I was prescribed Tizanidine first of all. I worked well at relaxing my muscles, but in my case, it also made me fall asleep. Not for a full 8 hours, but for some hours. I even fell asleep while upright and walking. I had a minor child at home still during that time, so it really didn't work for us. One thing about tizanidine, they let me break up the tablets so I could try lower doses. Good vibes to you. Hope you find what you need.

One Physiatrist told me to take electrolytes for my muscle spasms. It took me years to learn what she meant most of all was that I take Magnesium (plus some others). I can't take magnesium supplements, but in other posts with Mayo's support groups I was told of a topical magnesium lotion or gel. I'm planning to buy some time soon and give that a try. It's worth it, for me to find things/supplements that I'm not loading up on my kidney's or stomach.
