Knee Replacement 5 Years Ago

Posted by fhanker @fhanker, Nov 28, 2021

The last 2 weeks noticed some discomfort behind the the knee and at the top of the knee. My bend is excellent. I can bend my knee forward and backward almost as well as my other leg, and I can fully straighten my leg with no pain. No pain sleeping or sitting and can bend my knee as far as my other knee when sitting. No visible swelling that I can see and the knee is not hot or warm to touch. Can go up and down stairs with no pain or difficulty. There are periods when walking I slightly favor it and feel some discomfort but after awhile it loosens up and is ok. Any thoughts?

Good evening @fhanker, welcome to the Connect community where the mission is to improve the quality of life for every member. What could possibly have happened in the last 2 weeks? Discomfort behind the knee and on top.....may just be your fascia getting a bit restricted. Were you covering plants with burlp for the Winter? Have you been riding a new bike with tough pedals? I am sort of teasing but, it is possible to get the fascia stirred up and restrictive. MFR therapists can release the restriction and the discomfort will go
away. Sometimes I have to help my therapist find the exact point and that brings relief sooner.

MFR is myofascial release therapy. Have you been taking advantage of that integrative treatment?

May you be free, protected and safe from inner and outer harm.

Thanks for the response
I have been on my feet a lot lately. Not sure how I aggravated it but guessing from baseball workouts I throw batting practice to college and high school kids so I constantly am stepping forward on my left foot. FYI I’m 56 years old. Not heard of MFR but if I don’t feel better in a week or so going to reach out to my OS and see what he recommends
