Klebsiella Blood Infection

What can be done during the recovery of this infection? My uncle has been suffering from this for several months, soon to be a year. He has on-going severe pain (so severe that pain medication doesn't even touch it). The symptoms consist of joint pain, skin tenderness, muscle weakness/deterioration, he feels as though his bones are on fire like it's boiling.
