Keytruda -> Back Rash
My husband has had 20 Keytruda treatments. After his last treatment he developed a rash on his back and was given Prednisone 10mg for 14 days and Hydrocortisone 1% cream. He’s midway through with no improvement to his rash.
Has anyone experienced this? What was prescribed? Did it resolve the rash? If so, how long did it take? Thanks

Hi @abob, Has the prednisone helped your husband's rash? Did the doctor have any other suggestions?
How are you both doing?
No, neither the Prednisone nor the Hydrochloride cream has had any effect. Luckily the rash, while all over his back, is not unbearable for him. Seeing oncology PA prior to next Keytruda infusion next week.
Thanks for following up.
Sorry to hear that you and he are still dealing with this. I'd be interested to know if they do anything differently prior to that next infusion. Hugs.
I had a bad morbilloform rash all over my body after my first treatment with Keytruda. I was taken off of it and rechallenged with it alongside my 4th chemo treatment. I was fine for the next 5 treatments. On my 6th treatment (by this point it was just Keytruda, no chemo) the rash reappeared on my arms and legs. I tolerated it with Claritin and 2.5% hydrocortisone cream. It lasted about 5 days, then went away. Just had a keytruda treatments today so I am waiting to see if the rash reappears.
I am on nivo (similar to pembro) for a year and two weeks ago I had a significant rash all over my arms, back and front. Topical steroids + antihistamines resolved it mostly.
I have had a lot of IRAEs so far: partial adrenal gland atrophy, fatigue, pains, headaches, eosinophilia, liver enzymes elevation, suspected colitis. Currently I have headaches, leg aches and inconsistent stool. Itching also fluctuates but seems to be subsiding.
Seven infusions in. Five or six to go.
