Just had a surgery and terrified of glioma diagnosis

Just had tumor removal. So terrified. Every suspicion seems so serious and the worst. Doctor suspects glioblastoma due to gliola with necrosis and edema. Has anyone had better results. Everything is currently removed, will probably have radiation and chemo right away

Hi. Being frightened of this diagnosis is way normal. Our 53 yr old daughter collapsed while folding laundry on June 1, 2025. Within hours, she was in emergency surgery. Her pathology showed glioblastoma. I knew about this diagnosis. I'm a grief therapist whose specialty is terminal illness. These past 5 months have been difficult on everyone, but we're marching forward. She has gone thru rad and chemo. Her most recent MRI showed the tumor has not come back. For this, we are all extremely grateful. Kelly is very upbeat. About everything. I believe this to be probably the best medicine of all. We can help our bodies to heal by being positive. Visualization is amazing. Trust in your higher power is amazing. You're amazing. Each person is unique-you know that. But what we all have in common is our minds being able to help our bodies to feel better and have some positive outcomes.

@rippcamp thank you, you are so right and your story sounds so familiar to mine. She is close to my age and I’m worried about my mom’s reaction. She’s very upset of course, as I’m sure you were but I love both your reactions. Working on it here! 💕

@rippcamp My husband was diagnosed in April 2025 when I thought he was having a stroke. He has always had a positive attitude and continues to be. He had surgery to remove as much as they could in April. Had rad and low dose chemo in May/June. He is 4 rounds of high dose chemo under his belt and start the 5 round this evening. Staying positive is so very important and it helps me to see the warrior he is. Sending prayers and hugs.

@rippcamp, even though you're familiar with a dignosis such as glioblastoma, I'm sure your daughter's diagnosis was a shock and a gut punch. No one is ever prepared for such news. It must help that Kelly is upbeat, but also has someone like you to talk to when needing to unpack the tough stuff.
