Journaling - The Write Stuff For You?
Long ago –okay, for me, it was long ago!- it was common for a young person to keep a diary, a place to write down the heartaches and giggles of growing up, the trials and tribulations of school, friendships, sports and activities. Sometimes it was a locked book, so that we felt secure knowing our secret thought remained a secret.
How times have changed! While I no longer keep a classic diary, it is no less important for me to write down thoughts, ideas, and heaven-knows-what, on a regular basis. Nowadays, the common name is a “journal”, and seems to appeal to every segment of society. There are an abundance of ways to do this, and so many reasons why. Although I prefer longhand, many people use a computer, and there are any number of prompts/styles/methods.
Let’s explore this together!
Do you journal? What prompted you to start? What would you tell someone who wants to start?

I admire you, @dederickve, for journaling in the evening. I wish I could. By evening, I'm all worded-out. I've all I can do to stay awake through whatever episode of whatever season of whatever British murder mystery I think I'm watching. 🙂 –Ray (@ray666)

1 Reaction@ray666 thanks, Ray. It is sometimes hard o finally journal in the evening, but of the mornings, I try to read the Bible/devotions while I am fresh. That doesn’t mean I can write of he mornings, no. I love the British murder mysteries, too, but can hardly ever stay awake to see the end. Disappointing, but old age. I remember when I could stay awake to midnight working on whatever, reading, crafting, etc. gone are the days . . .
@dederickve
You're not alone in getting sleepy. Many a morning after trying to watch a 'Who did it?' to the end, I find myself wondering 'Who done it?'
