First I want to thank all of you for your comments and support! @jeffmarc @northoftheborder @heavyphil @retireddoc @kenhorse @rider51 @jc76 @ecurb @survivor5280 @fwintracy @michaelcharles special thanks. You all had great insights.
I hashed it out today with a great MO at NYU today and tomorrow I have RP with Dr Taneja. Radiation was certainly compelling and I was wavering on surgery but the decision is made. 61yrs ( my bday is day after surgery) G9, locally advanced, no lymph nodes or SV. Dr is going to take out one NV bundle and make a wide apical cut at the apex. ED and incontinence challenges ahead but there’s a chance we can get this. If not we have options. I went to CC Fl, UMiami, and a consult with MO and RO at Mayo Jax. They all said very treatable and even curable ( we love hearing that but we’ll see). I’ll take chronic condition for 25 yrs! Anyway. Thank you Boys. See you on the other side. Trip M.

Thanks for letting us know what your final decision is and I join the others in wishing you all the best tomorrow and during your recovery.

You did a great job of exploring the various treatment options for your particular case and that should give you a lot of peace of mind, both as you prepare for the surgery and on the other side.

Surgery is a piece of cake, you’ll do fine! Just take recovery easy, don’t rush it and let your body do the work. I’m saying a prayer for you and keeping you in my thoughts!

So far so good. It’s definitely a bit more painful than I thought. I’m in decent shape so I’m hoping I recover quickly. I can feel myself getting better even after day 2. I’ve been taking Tylenol. Did take one codone for shoulder pain from the gas. Keep you posted.
