Itchy Breast

Posted by beats32 @beats32, 6 days ago

I've had this itchy and tingly spot on my breast for as long as I can remember. Sometimes it's itchier than usual, and it's not constant, but I find myself scratching this same spot and around to the side and into my armpit quite often. I have routine 3d mammograms, breast MRI (6 months later) due to family history, and recently just had a biopsy from my other breast for a lesion that turned out benign. Nothing has ever been noted as suspicious in my left breast (itchy one). Nothing looks different, it's just so dang itchy! Any thoughts or advice? Thank you.

@beats32 have you tried applying coconut oil to that area? Works for me.

Thank you, I’ll give that a try. Perimenopause hit me like a ton of bricks this year and everything is out of whack.

Have you tried vitamin A and D diaper rash ointment? Works well for me on itchy spots under my breast.

I would try changing your soaps.
There are some out there with out these things.
Dye
Perfumes
Also, lotion
Make up.
It will take a few weeks to get things to change. Soap and softener don’t come out right away.
Wish you the best.

@beats32 32 Mine started with perimenopause too.
Coconut oil is great all over the body! If you are a member of Costco you can get the 1kg. jar of coconut oil for less than a smaller jar anywhere and not is good. If you are not a member perhaps a member you know could obtain a jar for you ….? I put a few tablespoonfuls. of it in a smaller jar to keep in the bathroom for use after my shower.

@beats32 true, that too! I use the humble pure Ivory bar soap!

Thank you! I'll definitely pick some up next time I'm there. I'm also starting to get patches of red, irritated skin on my face, mainly around my mouth. Hopefully that will help there, also. What fun!

@beats32 our Costco in Canada does not carry Ivory bar soap but it is available in ten-pack packages in all pharmacies and grocery stores. The multipack is a better deal.

I was told to use Dove by a dermatologist.
