Anyone else feel Isolated and not go out due to chronic pain?
Hello, I’m new here, I was recommended to join and interact with others who are in a similar situation as myself, I don’t go out much due to chronic pain and I feel isolated, anyone else feel the same?

@yram
U R welcome 🙏🏼
I can relate so well! Until I got my diagnosis of fibromyalgia, and got the medicines and acupuncture that got it under control, I did not leave my bed except to drag myself to a doctor appointment. And gained 30 pounds. I decided to take Spanish lessons remotely through a company called Preply. It's about $20 for an hour, and it got me talking to someone regularly and working my brain at the same time. So, it's something to consider. I also like to read and knit, but the pain in my hands usually would not let me knit or even turn the pages of a book. Could not text with friends and family. But anything you can do to connect with the outside world will help not only work your brain but take your mind off your pain. I wish you all the best.

2 Reactions@bdwmc excellent. I bet you will be happy with the results. It's very very bright so you must follow directions about how far away from your face, the light should be. And you never look directly at it. The directions, including time limits will be included. Happy Light Cheers to you!

1 Reaction@lwmarcrum You are very brave! And you are coping with a difficult disease. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 26 years ago now. I began reading the available books about the subject and there I was, a textbook version of Fibro. Learning about the disease and digging for info online has helped me cope. I found supplements that help my quality of life. I love your idea to learn Spanish on that format!!! It is important to keep the brain active, so that we are distracted from pain. If you are interested there is a book called the Fibro Manuel by Dr Ginevra Liptan. It is considered to be the book of all books for Fibro. She is an MD. who developed fibro in medical school. She now goes by Dr Ginevra and has a large presence on the net. I wish you the best as well.

@charliegirl
Will do. Thanks!
Hello , I'm here again...just wondering why in the 21st century nothing has been discovered that eliminates ( or lessens ) chronic pain ?? except morphine
Im sorry for we who are isolated. Chronic pain. No control over elimination. Isolation from others so do not become infected as too reactive to dozens of drugs and do not have meds can take. Nothing we can do either inside or elsewhere! Maybe outside six or more feet apart? How do you hug! Is physical affection gone forever? Can we have pets or are we dangerous to them or they to us?
Maybe we could try a trip to be studied in varied climates or large isolation chambers? Maybe a cd live with us? I live alone and isolated most of time but I do like to go outside yo feel/sense all I can there! It us a strange life. Do nit give up. The outdoors is my friend! Feed birds. They return even to tap on a window to remind you you are needed! 🫶🏻

1 ReactionHello Joanne, You have a lot of responses. Yes i feel very isolated, I never leave the house except for Drs and am lying down most of the day. Pain restricts my ability to do basic chores or anything meaningful....no one understands chronic severe pain and WHAT it takes from you, until they suffer....
You are not alone ❤️
