Is there any non-toxic way to manage vaginal odor and mild bleeding?
After checking with my oncologist, reading extensively on credible websites, and "ruining" innumerable pairs of cotton underwear, I struggle to find a "non-toxic" way to manage urine spotting when I cough/laugh (I'm 76) and the slight bleeding I experience on dilator use days. The result of this is a noticeable, to me, odor by day's end as well as chronically damp under pants and increasing social unease. I had a primary vaginal cancer tumor surgically removed 2 years ago followed by 7 weeks of chemoradiation. I am currently 2 years into surveillance. My oncologist would only say, "Some people report irritation with small urine pads. If you notice your vagina becoming irritated, stop using them." Needless to say, not having a clear direction leaves me trying to cope with this situation so I have a chance to more fully enjoy the life I've been given back without constant fear of offending or exacerbating any lingering cancer cells.. Given what so many of us have been through, this seems a very minor issue, but I would appreciate any "safe" suggestions folks may have for how to help manage this issue.

I haven’t tried them, but I have seen ads for “period panties.” They are advertised as washable and absorbent.
@celia16 Thank you for your suggestion. I will definitely do some serious research on these "period panties".
I use these! No irritation and totally worth the money.

@bethmcbab Thank you for your helpful suggestion. I was discouraged to see that the few more recent reviews on the product webpage indicate a definite downward trend in the quality of the pads. There are several other similar products on the page so I will check those out also. I note that these ship from Canada which could become problematic given the current "tariff war". Regardless, I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Again, thank you.
No problem! I’m Canadian and buy these in the grocery store here.
