Is anyone on here taking Resveratrol?

Posted by timely @timely, Nov 10, 2025

Has anyone heard the recent information that one with BC should not take Reservatrol which was posted on the Susan B Komen site

Before this, there were at least 20 trials which showed the benefits of Reservatrol blocking BC.

Any thoughts?

Supplements can be complicated or confusing with a breast cancer diagnosis. I'm about to start Kisqali and recall a long list of foods (pomegranates!) and supplements which should be avoided. I think reservatrol was on the list of supplements to avoid with Kisqali. Don't assume I'm correct so double check if you're on Kisqali. It seems reservatrol has possible estrogen-like effects so if you have estrogen positive breast cancer, to be safe, don't combine reservatrol with Kisqali.

Perhaps the confusion about reservatrol safety arises because it depends on what type of breast cancer you have. Estrogen positive breast cancer is only one type and so it's possible someone who has a different type of breast cancer could safely take reservatrol.

I think the Kisqali-Reservatrol interaction refers to reservatrol as a supplement and not in the form of food, though I need to check that! Reservatrol is one of several supplements I'd like to take but can't because of my diagnosis.

So very complicated, isnt' it!

I take Reservatrol along with several other supplements for invasive lobular, ER+ PR+, ER2- breast ca. My younger sister has had great luck with natural treatment after initially taking chemo, radiation, hormone blockers, because the cancer came back and obviously didn't work.
I did a lot of research on NIH, science direct, etc and chose my supplements after educating myself. Reservatrol can shut off the effectiveness of chemo drugs , so docs say not to take it. There is a lot of information out there and hopefully natural medicine will make it past big pharma and their control of grants and research.
