Irregular Z Line at 37cm Endoscopy
Hello, I was wondering what it means when an irregular Z line was noted at 37 cm during anEGD? I am 5’8” if that matters
My doctor did not really discuss this with me. He just told me he sent off biopsies for histology.

You really need to make your doctors, nurses tell you what this and that means in a clear way. They love to do and go and not explain to us. Then we're searching the web for answers. They also have issues with communicating with each other which can cause us problems
It means you have Barratt's esophagus st 37 cm in esophagus (pre-cancerous). I have it in two spots in my esophagus. My doctor did not biopsy mine.
Is it really clear that an irregular Z line means barret's ? I haven't heard that before. I have it on my endoscopy too but a biopsy did not reveal barret's.
I had an endoscopy by a new gastroenterologist. Results were irregular Z-line at 37 cm. I was told I did not have Barrett’s esophagus. I was really surprised as I had been told for years by my former doctor that I did. Why would they tell me that?
