@lvb, thanks for posting about this breakthrough research by Mayo Clinic. This research is part of Mayo Clinic's Precure initiative, which aims to predict and prevent disease by identifying the earliest biological changes in the body before symptoms begin. It also reflects Mayo Clinic's Clinical Impact strategy, accelerating the translation of discovery into patient care.

3 ReactionsInteresting. I’m wondering how and if this translates into real-life patient care. For instance, I’m concerned about my pancreas with a cyst in my tail (hasn’t grown in 6 months) and diagnosis of IPMN in branch ducts. I have a GI who is unconcerned at this time, and perhaps because I’m battling with stage 4 lung cancer. When I express concerns about my pancreas and GI issues, I seem to get deferred back to, well, you have stage 4 lung cancer. But I’m on a targeted treatment for that. I feel “unheard” about my pancreas concerns and I’m addressing it myself with a low-fat diet to avoid further pancreatic attacks (had 2 six months ago). Very frustrating. Was doing chemo and had to stop after 3rd cycle due to GI issues! My oncologist this week told me my symptoms don’t fit with chemo side effects & she doesn’t think it’s chemo related! So…then… why is everyone ignoring my pancreas concerns??!!
