Insight on Clear Cell Sarcoma

Posted by newsha @newsha, Dec 24, 2023

I’m 40 years old and was recently diagnosed with Clear Cell Sarcoma in my left hand. I start radiation at the beginning of January for 5 weeks then will have surgeries to remove the tendons in my hand. I’m staying positive and hopeful but am pretty nervous about the whole thing. I was hoping to get some insight or really just any information from people who have gone through a similar case. I’d really appreciate it!

Hi @newsha, I’m tagging other members like @annlopez81 @tomlinaz @winter23 who have experience with clear cell sarcoma to join in this discussion.

Winter23’s daughter had a clear cell sarcoma mass removed from the palm of her hand. I can imagine that you would have much to share. I can imagine you are scared and nervous as you prepare for radiation, @newsha. Do you have to travel far to radiation treatment?

Hi @colleenyoung thank you so much for tagging them. Luckily I live 7 min away from the cancer facility. I’m not too nervous about radiation but definitely nervous about the surgeries as they have to remove tendons from my hand. They’re going to then try to reconstruct them. Would appreciate any insight!
