@dirtslinger9 This is very difficult to take in. Hearing "cancer" brings up so much fear and anxiety - at least it did with me when I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in 2019. While we wait for some of our other members of this Support Group to join in may I ask a few questions? This will help others to support you and help you to advocate for yourself.

What other test are you waiting for?
When will you have an MRI?
Did you see an oncologist or gynecological oncologist? If, yes, what kind of chemotherapy did the doctor recommend?

Here are other discussions from our members who have experienced cervical cancer on Mayo Clinic Connect. Reading through these will give you more information:

You can also do a search yourself on Mayo Clinic Connect to find out what others have posted. Go to the top of your screen where this is an oval box with a magnifying glass and type "cervical cancer".

Do you have any pain today? How are you feeling?

I was originally diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer. It had spread to my ovary. After surgery, I had 7 weeks of
5 days a week radiation with chemo one day a week. After that, I had 5 sessions of brachytherapy. I had 4 years with no evidence of disease after that. Then the cancer metastasized to a lymph node. I don't know if the radiation was better than chemotherapy. They both have side effects. What kind of chemotherapy did they recommend?

6 months ago I was diagnosed with HPV every strain. Now I'm having a heavy just discharge. Light spotting, and the odor is horrible. Are these symptoms of cervical cancer. I see a new female doctor in 8 days. I'm 64 years old. I no longer have a period. The male doctor that I had before never told me anything never did anything.

Hope you can get some answers. There are so many HPV’s some strain's more serious than others from what I have researched.
