I was just diagnosed so I’ll just be starting the journey of testing to discover what stage and treatment. I am most worried about the financial part as I am low income and raising two teenagers who are on full Medicaid. I am Medicare and have. Part N supplemental. Thanks all!

I understand your concern about cost. I have Medicare, but different type of supplemental (part G). As you probably already know, Medicare will pay first and then your supplemental insurance (Part N) will pay it's portion. Plan N charges lower monthly premiums than most other Medicare Supplement plans, but Plan N has copayments, they are fixed and not based on the cost of your care.

I suggest you call your Part N insurance company and discuss with them your co-pay responsibility.. There is usually a phone number on insurance card. Ask if there is an out a pocket maximum. Also, you can talk to clinic your being treated at if there is financial assistance to help with co-pay. They may know about other options or organizations for financial assistance.

Make sure any place you are being treated accepts original medicare.

Hoping you the best, when dealing with any disease, having to worry about financial needs increases the anxiety.
