I'm alive and back!
Hello all! I'm back and as promised I'm updating everyone. I don't have my Path report yet, but I'm doing well. The surgery went well without any complication and I spent one night in the hospital where I got really good care. I'm still bruised and have some swelling but the main thing is that I have recovered almost all continence and the surgeon was able to do a great deal of nerve sparing. I have the occasional leak but I'm counting this as success. My brain, bladder and bowels are still sorting out what it feels like post surgery but even that's not a big deal. Overall I feel much better than before the surgery. Once again thanks for all your support. 🙂 As soon as I get the path report I will post.

1 ReactionIn the experience of some (or many) in this support group, do the "doctor's orders with regards to lifting things" apply only to those who had surgery? Does not apply to those who had "radiation treatment & ADT" only?
Your doctor's orders apply to you, same for everyone else.
I had Robotic assisted RARP which is also Laparoscopy surgery as they place a number of devices in you. Because they cut you open in a number of small places you are at risk of a Hernia by lifting to much or twisting the wrong way while lifting etc and getting a Hernia. So it should only apply to those having surgery. I'm healing up nicely. In my preop the surgeon said that about two weeks after surgery you start feeling better and you decide to lift something heavier than about 10 pounds and that's when you are at greatest risk of a Hernia.
