Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Question
Not to make this any more complicated than I already am, but has anyone ever had their platelets just randomly drop for several months (about 3-4) for absolutely nothing reason and then go back to normal?
I did just recently have steroid injections in hands and then last week in my back, so they are currently back to normal. However, I can always tell when my platelets start to drop. I start randomly bruising, and I bleed more easily when changing out insulin pump sites or blood draws.
I have not been sick, and not taking anything different.
I do current have another appointment with a specialist to further explore. I’m just curious if anyone has had the same experience as me and it was nothing, or it was something more and I just have never noticed till now.

I also have thrombocytopenia and have been gradually dropping for several years. I see a hematologist every 6 months. There is no plan to do anything about it until I drop to 15 ,000. After being tested for everything, no reason has been found. Yes, I bruise if I barely touch anything. I take Vit K supplements and that slows the bruising a bit. I have no helpful advice. Good luck!
