Idiopathic neuropathy and dizziness.

Posted by judypall @judypall, Mar 10, 2019

I have been diagnosed with idiopathic neuropathy. Came on suddenly 8 months ago. The last 8 months have been many doctors appts to find no cause. I also just do not feel well. Dizzy like.
Head feels heavy and just not right! Not one doctor can answer that. I really feel like there is something going on in my body but no one can figure it out! It’s seems like neurologist came up with the idiopathic name since it can’t be figured out. I am only 53 and have otherwise been very healthy and active, Life has sure changed. Anyone else feel dizzy? Feel generally bad?

Im 53 also Im dizzy I can be sitting and it feels like I’m spinning vertigo at times swelling all over and neuropathy in both legs. I’m freezing all the time freezing leg, numbness, tingling, feel like there’s water dripping on my legs, odd sensations. This came on about 10 months ago and DR.s don’t know what’s wrong with me. Prior to this happening I’ve always felt my nerves were overly active in my legs. I have to wear heated socks just to function
I was very active too this is very hard to deal with

Welcome @ava53, You are not alone finding neuropathy symptoms and unknown causes hard to deal with. I think the best thing we can do to help ourselves is to learn as much as we can about our conditions, symptoms and available treatments. Connect is a great place to meet others dealing with the same or similar conditions and learn what others have experienced that may help. You might find it helpful to start with the symptoms that bother you the most and use the search function of Connect to locate other discussions using your symptoms for searching. Here's a discussion on using search - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/search-it-can-help-you/.

If you want to learn more about neuropathy, the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy has a lot of good information and research - https://www.foundationforpn.org/living-well/.

You mentioned all of these symptoms cam on about 10 months ago and doctors haven't been able to figure out a diagnosis. Have you thought about seeking help at a teaching hospital or major health facility like Mayo Clinic?
