Idiopathic Intercranial Hypertension

I was admitted to the hospital this weekend with severe headache, nausea, blurred vision. My question does idiopathic Intercranial Hypertension show up on a CT scan? My doctor said no hydrocephalus or hypertension showed but I have every single symptom of it.

Hello @sarah68, Welcome to Connect. According to this article by Mayo Clinic I think it might not be as simple to diagnose by using a CT scan.

Thank you. My Doctor suggested a Lumbar puncture, however, I am under the impression that this should not be done as I also have chiari malformation. Thoughts?

I think it's good to be concerned about any type of surgical procedure and worth seeking a second opinion if there are any questions or risks. I did find some guidelines that may be helpful.
