Is it safe to use Ibuprofin for muscle pain in the hip and weakness in the leg from a sports injury?

@rerea Maybe, but we are not doctors and don't have enough information to say.
In general, if you are healthy, not allergic to ibuprofen and are not taking any medications that would contraindicate using an NSAID, it would bo okay for short term use, according to label instructions.

However, leg weakness is not typical of an sports injury and could be an indicator of something that requires treatment. If the pain and weakness have lasted for more than a day or two, you should be seen to rule out a serious injury that requires intervention.
Have you seen a doc or gone to Urgent Care?

@rerea
Have you seen an orthopedic doctor since your injury? Have you had a MRI of your pelvis/hips to show the injury to soft tissues? Your lower back/spine may also be contributing to your pain/weakness. Did they also do a MRI of your lumbar spine?

What type of sports injury did you sustain? Inflammation can be treated with NSAIDs like Ibuprofen but it can affect your stomach and kidneys so it would be best to have your doctor prescribe medications considering your overall health. A doctor may say taking over the counter ibuprofen is fine.

Did they recommend physical therapy? Ice/heat? Voltaren gel?

Ibuprofin can be hard on the stomach. Mentor’s comment gives good advice.

Instead consider a sports massage, PT or provider in your prospective sport.
