I have CLL since 2009 now I was just told my aorta may need to be replaced. I am 85 yrs old with no shortness of breath or pains in the chest. Is it a good idea to wait & see?
Hi again Kathleen.
Why is the cancer care team suggesting that your aorta be replaced? What are the risks of waiting vs having the procedure?
Hi Kathleen, regarding your aorta … did they tell you there’s an aneurysm? The reason I ask is because my dad had one and when it ruptured he had to have an emergency surgery. That was many years ago and they probably have new technology now to figure out, in advance, when a person might need replacement before there’s an emergency. So I was just wondering why they tell you that “you may need an aorta replacement…” if you feel like giving more details.
Good luck and best wishes to you.
Thanks for your views on this problem but for now I am waiting to see if the problem gets worse. The Dr. Said if I get ant chest pains call 911 or go to the emergency room. Dr. Did not say anything about an aneurysm . Hope all is well with you.

Thanks for your concern.Doc never said there was an aneurysm. I am going to wait and see and ask him about if there is an aneurysm or not.
