I have pseudomonas in my right maxillary and ethmoid sinuses.

I took Cipro for 4 weeks and it did nothing. I had surgery 2 days ago and the ENT prescribed Clindamycin. When I researched it the research said it was not appropriate for pseudomonas in my sinuses. is that true? what is effective?

I had 4 bacterial infections last year with Pseudomonas , UTI, Lung, Eye and left maxillary sinus. I was referred to Infectious Disease Center. They took very good care of me and put me on a strong IV antibiotic of Zosyn for 14 days . I had to go every day for IV clean , timer reset bag change , etc.
Here we are new year and I go for my appt with my ENT Dr and he suspects that the infection is back. He takes a culture in the left maxillary and it comes back Pseudomonas which has now colonized . So back to the Infection Disease Center for treatment. Put back on the IV antibiotic of Zosyn for 21 days. The IV was just pulled , end os 21 days, and another culture taken and it came back
“No growth”. Which is a good sign of not seen/nor there !
Where did I catch Pseudomonas? Prior to my infections last year , the assisted living facility I live in had evidence of Legionella which live in wet/ water systems . The facility went to great lengths to eradicate it working with the county and the State ., although it seems to be pretty evident here all over in
California . Several Doctors made a comment there where there is Legionella there is Pseudomonas because they both survive in wet systems !
I wish you the best in your treatment ….it seems Infectious Disease Center/Drs know best how to deal with it !
