I have post concussion syndrome from bad fall on Nov.. 22/23

I feel on a bumpy area rug hitting the left side of head, face blood allover floor, walls. Take my ambulance to a hospital near me, showed a brain bleed. Transfered by ambulance to atrium hospital. Another cat scan, bo brain bleed. I was supposed to stay for 24 hrs discharged 6 or 7 hours later!!!! I had a black and blue bull all around starting from my left eye brow nose, left cheek, all around it stayed that way for MONTHS!!!!!!
Another scan 5 months ago no bleed but still very dizzy, LOTS OF PRESSURE AND SWELLING SIDE OF NOSE, BELOW TO CHEEK,
IT'S WORSE, HARD TO EXPLAIN. IF I READ OR ON COMPUTER I'M WORSE?? I will be going to a clinic specializing in concussions.

I would like to ask others who have a had a concussion, I fell on the left side of my face, head. I had a brain bleed was sent to a Trauma Hospital, that hospital took another CT scan, bleed was gone and they only kept for only few hours and released me.!!! That was on Nov. 22, 23! Now I forgot what year it is! I'm dizzy, left side of nose by the bridge is still swollen, pain there, Another CT scan showed nothing?? Memory is bad, loose everything! I'm not me, I feel different? Lots of pressure around left cheek??? Does anyone have experience with this. I'm lost. There is a concussion Clinic I've made an appt. end of July or do I see a Neurologist? I also have Small Fiber Neuropathy, Sojgren's Syndrome, I get IVIG Infusions. All this it getting to me!!!

I'm sorry I forgot to add, I sleep A LOT, EATING, LAYING DOWN, IN CAR, MY HUSBAND IS DRIVING.

You definitely should see a neurologist for a brain MRI, memory tests and to check cranial/trigeminal nerves (head/face). My son has had a couple concussions (8 and 9 years old) and he mainly needed to let his brain heal (concussions are like brain bruises). For your nose, you may also want to see an ENT to see if there is damage that needs to be treated.

Who diagnosed your small fiber neuropathy? Did you have a neurologist do a skin punch biopsy to confirm?

I'm glad to hear that you have an upcoming appointment at a concussion clinic. That is a good place to start. Your evaluation will likely include a neurologist.

Good that you are going to a clinic that specializes on concussions. If you now have the pressure and swelling on your nose and cheek, it would be good to see a doctor soon in case it is an infection or other problem. The clinic doctors should be able to evaluate you and give you some brain PT (retrain the brain). After I had a TBI (moderate traumatic brain injury) years ago I had some training that helped. I also had some group therapy, which was more like 'One flew over the cuckoo's nest". As you found out, brain injuries are messy from all the blood. Recovery happens, but it is hard work and rest.

HELLO!!!, kayabbot, I wish I had the patience to rest, stay away from the computer and cell phone!!!!!
Feeling different is bothering me so much!! memory is bothering me a lot! Not taking care of myself is a big thing always! Why????? is that happening??? Oh! I sleep a lot????? sitting in a chair, a car??? Is sleeping a lot!! is that a part of a concussion?? I'm so tired!!! I was speaking with someone and fell a sleep?????THE NEUROLOGIST I WAS SEEING IGNORED ALL THESE SIDE EFFECTS. SHEDID NOT WANT TO SEE ME ANYMORE, WELL, I WENT THE BOARD OF MEDICAL EXAMINERS, GETTING WORSE AND WORSE.

Falling asleep suddenly sounds like when I have an epileptic seizure. My friend said I was sitting on the couch and suddenly my head went back and I was sleeping so deeply I was snoring. Then he said I woke up after about 4 minutes and continued eating and said I feel tired. I could tell by the look on his face and his complete silence that something happened and I guessed it was a seizure. He looked totally freaked. I was really embarrassed.

Thank you! Yes! It’s a mess really so will be me trying to explain. First I stopped eating meat so plants then cut dairy that helped with headaches nausea & dizziness limited flour intake too. I shouldn’t say cut better word is reduced drastically dairy that is meat completely though… dunno by no stretch am I a dietitian or really know what I am or was doing, watched a few videos of benefits eating different was on Netflix…

Hi, @westd - are you still following the diet you talked about with no meat, limited flour and drastically reduced dairy? If so, what dietary change has helped you the most with your symptoms? Were you limiting all flours, or just wheat flour?
