First I would like to share this, My neuropathy was stable with IVIG Infusions, than on April 26 2023 I had Hip Surgery that destroyed my life. Look up Mayo Clinic, S.F. Neuropathy and hip surgery. It is now 2/4/24 I'm worse. Hip surgery did not fail. What happened was my nerves were destroyed cutting them and the pain is unbearable, groin, entire leg, burning hip, thigh all the time. Now my spines worse.

I'm sorry to hear that the surgery had such a serious impact on your pain and neuropathy. Are you continuing with IVIG infusions?

Hi Colleen,
Yes I am.
The site says, "Mayo Clinic Study finds Nerve Damage after Hip surgery may be due to Inflammation"
It's very informative and that is how I found out and called my Hip Surgeon to no avail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Small Fiber Neuropathy. All nerve pain.
I hope this will help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have good day!

I am so sorry for you and I truly feel your pain. I had a CATH procedure to check my heart and when I woke up, I had the worst foot and lower leg neuropothy pain that I had ever experienced. My Norco did nothing towards relief and when I contacted my PCP, he said that I would learn to adjust. After testing a few otc products, I found that Benedryl Hcl 25mg pills (2pills every 4 hours) controlled the pain and the contractions.

Hi @hardin0102, Welcome to Connect. Sorry to hear that your CATH procedure caused lower leg neuropathy pain. From what I've read it's one of the rare side effects of the procedure. I did find and article you might find helpful if you haven't already seen it.

How long ago did you have the CATH procedure? Did the surgeon or doctor discuss anything about the recovery time?
