I have Diverticulosis and a Sliding Hiatal Hernia.

My doctor wants me to take Miralax and Psyllium in order to get regular bowel movements every day. Is there anyone on here who has taken these two together? Thanks!

Yes I have to regularly for years . Mira lax is pretty safe , it's more natural, it pulls water into the colon , it's not a stimulant and can take a day or two to start working. I don't take both together. I take psyllium husk in the mornings.

Helped initially with constipation but gave me gas/bloating. I dialed it back until it felt better but still helped.

I am assuming that you take the Miralax at night?

Did you start out with a full dose at first?

@nthpokt yes, Miralax after breakfast and Metamucil later in the day. I traded that for a different fiber supplement due to gas and bloating. Right now on an every other day routine with both. Still less than great but better. Good luck! It’s a drag.

@nthpokt I don't take it at any specific time as it's not like a laxative and won't give you that urgency, you will just have more normal movements. As with the psyllium husk, if you're not used to the fiber you can definitely get gas and bloating. Be sure and drink lots of additional water after drinking it, that helps
