I have been diagnosed with Barrett's esophageus

I am recently diagnosed with Barrett's esophageus and admit I am scared. My Dad and my Grandfather both passed away from esophageul cancer and I have fears. I guess I am wondering how many of you have Barrett's and any thoughts you have for someone recently diagnosed. Thank you!

I get my EGD and colon scope on Oct-3. I'm hoping my BE is not seen and no other problem areas are seen. I've been off PPI's for about 4 months now and I feel normal.

Hi!
How did it go? You sound like you are doing well.

Barrett’s was gone which was good news but I have stomach ulcers. His NP took me off of PPI Pantaprazole and I got ulcers so now I’m back on a PPI for them. I get scoped again in April to check on them. I didn’t even know I had ulcers. I feel great.

Me too! Just diagnosed after years of GERD and Prilosec, Gastritis, etc. Waiting to see my gastroenterologist to tell me how to go forward with all this. And, he told me my esophagus is torqued (twisted) when he saw me briefly after the endoscopy. So many questions. 🤔

Did your Dad & Grandpa ever get EGD done ✅ prior to having symptoms and getting esophagus cancer?
You are staying on top of it , that’s what’s most important now .
I have so many different digestive disorders, too many to list . 10 years and counting . Chronic , plus PVCs .
My whole body is a mess . Done everything, still suffering.
