I feel your foot pain, help me understand mine.

I have a complicated history. Multiple neck surgeries, fused from C1 to. C7. Now I have a bulging disc in C7 and T1. Have had 3 total shoulder replacements and a full knee. I suffer from fibromyalgia and take cymbalta to help with that. I was on gabapentin but felt that 5400mg a day was not a good idea, and stopped taking it. About 2 years ago, I started getting awful pain in my feet, now it feels like my skin is too tight and burns all the time. Additionally I have severe pain on the top side of my big toes. The pain is relentless and exactly the same in both feet and has become consistent throughout the day and worse at bedtime. Does anyone experience the same? If so, what has been you path and approach to dealing with the pain?

Good evening @gklepchick. Welcome to Connect. I must say this upfront......When I read your first post, I thought you might have copied mine. My neck has the same fusions as yours. I have had 3 shoulder surgeries on my right including a reverse replacement and 1 on my left. I take Cymbalta and am pleased with its performance going on for 11 years.

And then there are issues like gabapentin which I have been tapering off for about a year now. It made me a fuzzy brain and didn't treat my digestive system too well. And now for the feet. Tingle tangles is what I call the problems with my feet. Without my two MFR (myofascial release therapy) sessions every week, I wouldn't be able to drive at all. My heels have stabbing pain to go with the numbness. Both knees have received a TKR and even my toes have had some kind of surgery.

Your question is about my medicine. I have been working on that for 11 years. I now combine medical cannabis tinctures with as-needed ibuprofen. What really helps is the MFR sessions plus the mindfulness and meditation practice, daily stretches, and weekly yoga. In the summer, I try to get in some walking along the river.

So....nice to meet you. For starters regarding pain, what are you currently using at what strength and how often?

This is our chance to help each other and I will be awaiting your next post.

May you be safe, protected, and free from inner and outer harm.
Chris

You might have gout. Mine were doing the same and my Dr said I had gout. I take Allopurinol believe me it helps . It feels great to be able to sleep with out my feet burning. I had to much uric acid in my blood.
