Hi,
I'm sorry you are having this problem. That's not fun. I have a small blocking problem with my nose at night and I use Mentholatum. I just put it in my nose before I go to bed every night. It keeps my nose clear all night. It's an old over the counter medication so sometimes it's hard to find. You can get it at Amazon.
I'm glad that you are seeing your doctor soon. I hope everything works out for you.

My husband had a similar problem so I got him to see an ent. He had surgery for nasal polyps, and the problem turned out to be cancer. Thank goodness he is clear now. See an ENT!

2 ReactionsI have the same thing and I have to sleep on the unblocked side and I also use any time of menthol product to relieve the discomfort. My ENT said I have a small perforation in my septum but it's very difficult surgery so he wouldn't recommend it. I already had my septum deviation fixed several years ago and I am not willing to go through anything like that again!!! Hopefully the ENT can help you!!
@neisie13 See ENT have them check your Adnoids in back of your nose had mine removed years ago. Hope you feel better soon
See Ear Nose Throat Dr have them check your Adnoids I had mind removed years ago, for same reason.
@neisie13 You mention the unblocked side in order to sleep. I have a similar problem and have discovered that my left nasal passage slightly collapses when I lay on my right side. You can test this theory for yourself by laying on your side that blocks the airflow and just pull the side of the blocked nostril away from your face to open the airflow and see if it helps. If it does, there are silicone nasal vent dilators on Amazon that are inexpensive and work well.
@jtpalmbay2023 Thank you for responding. I do have the silicone nasal dilator from Amazon and it does help. It's not perfect but it's definitely better with it. I used to be addicted to nose spray at night because of this but my ENT worked with me and put me on a steroid so I could wean off of it. During the day I still feel like the one nostril is not as clear as the other but I sometimes use the NeilMed SinuInhaler and that helps for a while. Thanks again!!!
@cc60 I wish my Adenoids were the problem but my ENT has checked everything out and the only issue is a nasal septal perforation which is very difficult to repair. He said to use over the counter aids to help. I am also on two allergy sprays. Thanks for responding!!!!
