I had blood tests about four years ago and because I am extremely tired consistently dr tested and showed I did not have mono but had somewhere in my past. Unknown when but as far back as I remember I have always been over tired.

I will have to check this book out. The guy who wrote mine spells his last name Starr with two “R’s”.

Has chronic fatigue syndrome been considered? It can develop after a virus infection.

Doctor doesn’t believe it is a problem. Endocrinologist didn’t want to talk about hypothyroidism secondary as the American endocrinology society does not confirm it and the tests were within range. I walked out and won’t be returning.

Went to a reputable health food store. Found a supplement for iodine and thyroid. First day on it I didn’t fall asleep. So far today have not sat down and fallen asleep. I will be trying this.

My daughter did get CFS after a bad virus in 2012. She is doing ok now, some people dont improve though. If you have symptoms for 6 months, it should be considered. I have hypothyroidism, take Synthroid (since 1988) and have no tiredness issues. If your numbers are ok, it is probably not your thyroid causing your tiredness.

I have discussed everything with several doctors. No one believes in hypothyroidism secondary which does not show up in blood tests very often. It is a real medical problem. I don’t have access to the big medical institutions. I am tired of all doctors. They only want to see what is in their hallowed box of tests like X-rays ct scans blood tests etc. they don’t see the patient or hear what they are telling the doctor. So I give up. Not talking to them anymore.

I hear you. My only advice is my experience. I read a lot and do my own research then make demands when necessary. My TSH level is best at a number 1 . If it hits number 2 I start to have symptoms.

It took a long time before a Radiologist said
" Hashimoto's" and hypothyroidism to me. Before that it was hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism. I look to diet and exercise to try and stay functional.
