Hypnosis for chronic pain

Has anyone tried hypnosis to help relieve chronic pain ? Did it work.

No but I would like to and biofeedback. I have tried mindfulness based pain reduction and it helped.

I was considering going to Mayo's Pain Rehabilitation Program but it looks like it is too expensive. I think I will try some of the pain Program offerings that Vanderbilt has. They have classes on self hypnosis and other things.

Many years ago, I tried hypnosis for migraine prevention -- it made no difference. It may be that I was just one of those people for which it did not work, or it may be that I chose the wrong therapist.

I did four sessions, did not work for my chronic pain.
