Husband with ILC stage3C

Any men with ILC stage 3C?
My husband was diagnosed this year. Had a mastectomy and did 4 rounds of AC and now doing 12 rounds of taxol. Any other men with this cancer?
Not much info for men with ILC.

Hugs to you and your husband, I am so sorry to hear about this. I am not a man, but I was also stage 3 with mastectomy, 8 AC and the 12 Taxol. Then radiation and Xeloda (chemo pill for a year), so if you all have questions about the treatment I am happy to try and help.

With the Stage 3 my oncologist was able to get an immunotherapy for the cancer type I had that the drug company sponsored. It had been approved for Stages I, II, and IV, but they still needed data for III so they gave it to us free and we copied their trial regimen so they could present those findings. Maybe you all can find something for that?

All my best.

Thank you for the info.
What is the immunotherapy?
How long ago were you diagnosed?

They are newer treatments that use your immune system against the cancer. Not every type of breast cancer/cancer has them and not all are available with insurance, but it might not hurt to ask if there is anything at Stage 3.

Here's a little explanation from American Cancer Society https://www.cancer.org/cancer/managing-cancer/treatment-types/immunotherapy.html

Mine was specifically for Triple Negative Breast Cancer.

I was diagnosed July 2020 and did IV chemo Aug 2020--Dec 2020, started Keytruda (the immunotherapy) in Sept 2020-Sept 2021, followed by mastectomy Feb 2021, then radiation March-May 2021, and started Xeloda, the chemo pill May 2021 and that went to May 2022. I had reconstruction Sept 2021 and a touch up surgery Feb 2022.

Now I do 3 month bloodwork, yearly Pet/CT scans, and mammogram/MRI alternating every 6 months.

Thank you for the information. My husband is doing good. He did 4 rounds of AC and now on his 4 out of 12 Taxol. I’m doing okay… I’m trying to find out any info on this Cancer in Men but it’s just so very rare.
