HPV/cervical cancer risk with positive Pap smear
I have been tested for HPV and I was tested positive for the E6 – E7 which accounts for 14 different types of cancers that could potentially happen to me but I also got test results packs from my Pap smear showing abnormal epithelial cells and a typical squamous cells what are my chances of cervical cancer now? The way I look at it it doesn't look good, but I'm trying to find some positive Feedback here

@hlittle5479, I know firsthand that this is scary. I had a Pap smear that came back with abnormal results. I was recalled to do loop electrosurgical excision procedure, also known as LEEP, for further investigation. I was then closely followed for a year. Luckily I can report that the abnormal cells were not cancerous and I have returned to my primary care for regular Pap smears. My risk of getting cervial cancer has not increased, but that is me. Everyone is different.
Have you discussed this with your gynecologist? Do these results mean that your risk for cervical cancer has changed? Do you need further testing or followup at this time?
Thank you for your response. Since I posted this, I have found out that I have stage one cervical cancer but I also have a tumor. It’s either a pituitary tumor or an adrenal gland tumor but it’s causing my testosterone to be 632 and for women, it’s supposed to be 50 and below, so I’m going through quite a lot right now and I don’t know how to handle all of this. My son has already lost his dad. I just got to stay positive and be strong.
I bet you are going through a lot right now. You must be so worried for yourself and, of course, for your son. I'm tagging fellow members like @cancerback @mmchap2120 @margitdill who have walked this path before you and have experience with cervical cancer.
As you go through this diagnostic process, you might appreciate getting a referral to a social worker specializing in cancer. Here's more information:

@hlittle5479, as you support your son, who is there for you? Do you have a circle of supporters?
Thank you so much that actually really means a lot. I definitely could use added support.
