How to take Alpha lipoic acid (ALA)?

Someone please let me know how to take ALA, with an empty stomach or with food.

Several reputable sites are in conflict on this one. Thank you.

I am diabetic and have a pad under my feet. I have no pain or tingling.

I am taking ALA 600 mg X 2. On an empty stomach.

My immediate concern is red, extremely itchy rashes the size of a half-penny and only in the limbs. They go away after a few days and then come back.

I cannot find them online.

I take 2 ALA 600 mg a day to help with pain. I have no problems.

I take ALA by intramuscular injection and it’s been a tremendous help. Pills don’t work. I get 1ml /25mg/cc once or twice a week in thigh muscle. If interested, reply & Ill give more info
