How to cope with living with Type 2 diabetes, I miss my old life.

I have a hard time living with diabetes, I miss my old life before diabetes. My friends don’t understand what it’s like even after I tell them all the things you have to do in a day to manage this disease, I feel so alone.

In reply to @tula17 and @thisfatoldlady , diabetes is becoming increasingly common; yet it is SO variable from person to person. There is no such thing as “one size fits all”. Thank God (quite literally) that there are so many types of treatment available now (diet, exercise, testing & monitoring, weight management, medications, insulin, high tech devices, support groups, counseling, therapies …..) Still with all of this help available it can be a REAL SLOG to find just the right combination to customize an individual treatment plan. It is tedious and time consuming. Sometimes you can do everything “right” and still the results aren’t what you had hoped for. Sometimes unforeseen things are at play and you end up clueless as to what happened. BUT you have to keep working at it a day at a time. Do your best and hope and pray for the rest. The alternative isn’t good. You don’t want to go there.
