How many supplements are enough for GBM?

I have come up with 61 complementary therapy supplements and a few mushroom supplements! How many supplements are enough for treating grade IV Glioblastoma in addition to TMZ?

Hi @kamran, temozolomide (TMZ) is the primary chemotherapy for glioblastoma multiforme (GBM).

When considering complementary or alternative treatments, be open-minded yet skeptical. Learn about the potential benefits and risks. Keep in mind that natural substances can also have toxicities, adverse side effects and treatment interactions. Supplements are not regulated and can be marketed without rigorous clinical testing.

More and more cancer centers and oncology specialists are open to discussing and integrating complementary medicine in programs called Integrative Medicine or Integrative Oncology. Integrative medicince is offered at many cancer centers of excellence, including Mayo Clinic.

Adding 61 complementary supplements sounds like a lot. Are you working with your care team and/or oncology pharmacist to inquire about possible benefits and potential interactions?

It is excessive. GBM survival on TMZ is less than 24 months for most patients!
