How Many Guys Have Achieved 100% Erection Baseline?
Talking to the penile therapist today and he said that only about 5% of men, following a prostatectomy with nerve sparing, get back to 100% of their previous erection. He didn't particularly elaborate on what is more common - 90%? 80%? 50%?
That sounds very depressing. Yes, I know there are pills and pumps and injections and implants, but I was far more hopeful as a relatively young man of 54 who has never had even the slightest hint of ED in my life. I can hope to be in the 5% but I cannot count on that.
I know that ED will happen with age anyway for 90% of the men of the world, but I still have many years ahead before that should be a concern, so making it happen early is really messing with me.

Don't focus on "% hardness". The key metric for me is: does it allow for both me and my partner to have a satisfying, enjoyable experience we'd like to repeat. By that standard, I achieved "100%" within 7 months post surgery.
I did Tulsa Pro at 65 in July. I was 100% erection baseline at 1 week. If you are a candidate for TulsaPro, it is worth your consideration. I too struggled with the percentage of my surgeon was giving me. Quite frankly I wasn’t ready to hit the bench!
Its a great sign . Work at it a bit and it will come along . Also speak to your Dr as he has many ideas . Even a Cancer sex therapist may help . We have them here on Vancouver Island ....they work with PC people to get back in action. They has some great ideas like Tri-Mix Gel and other stuff ! God Bless Sir . James on Vancouver Island
At 54 you should heal up very good . I have a suggestion here . On Vancouver Island we have sex therapy sessions if you want . They work with PC people and others . really works well . They have loads of suggestions . Im post 3 years since operation. im at 75% normal now . Im 61 . With pills and pump or TriMix Gell im 100% . how long has it been since operation? Your partner is helpful and supportive ? You will get there , your probably under 1 year post surgery ? God Bless. James on Vancouver Island .
That's a very good question. I have had several echocardiograms over the past 10 years showing ascending aorta dilation of 4.1 cm (which is just over the line of normal). Neither I nor any of my doctors considered this. Maybe a right hand not knowing about the left hand situation with me in the middle being too ignorant or not clever enough to ask about it. I will investigate.
I will say that for six months after surgery I took daily viagra, and several times since. I had another echo at the end of those six months, with no change. But again, no one has ever brought it up.
I'm starting a new thread on the topic of sildenafil and aortic dilation...
The surg was for your prostate ? I wish you luck and good health.
What is ADT ?
ADT is androgen deprecation therapy. I’m on two different drugs that lower my testosterone levels so that I am in effect chemically castrated temporarily. My testosterone level before the drugs was 261 which was a little low for my age. On the drugs, my testosterone is 38.
ADT is recommended for people with higher risk prostate cancer and I’m one of them.
Lupron, Orgovyx, Fermagon and Eligard are the main ADT drugs.
