How long do side effects last - Evenity (leg numbness, tingling, weak)
My wife started Evenity a few months ago. The first injection was fine. She had a significant reaction to the second injection - joint swelling and a lot of pain. She was treated largely with steroids and the pain has subsided (it has been about 4 weaks). However, she still has numbess, tingling and weakness in one of her legs. We have been to a number of doctors and, most recently, she had a nerve conduction study. That study found no damage. Has anyone had an experience like this with Evenity and, if so, did the symptoms resolve (and, how long did it take).

@andersdarc I’m 63 and having pain in leg following Evenity injection #1! Also active like you and BMD only just tipped over from osteopenia to -porosis. Thought I should be proactive, thus Evenity.
Interested to know whether preexisting fracture repair from 2006 with implant made me vulnerable to pain. That’s where new striking pain is. No pain other leg. Never a complaint from 2006 despite much metal, resulting leg length discrepancy, etc. Given new pain not sure whether to do Evenity #2. Decision time…

4 ReactionsWow yes I had similar experience. I have a degenerative scoliosis At first I did not relate to Evenity. The muscle weakness and joint stiffness were real. I’m getting my last of the 12 injections next month. My prayer is there is significant improvement in my bone density. I have DEXA scan. At night I rewind on all the food I had that day to make sure besides supplements I have take in enough calcium. I walk 4 miles a day and have been trying to do the bone strengthening exercises. I think those are what caused my disc to herniate which lead to steroid injections. The first 5 months it was difficult. The best to your wife. She’s luck to have someone supporting her with this disease. I know my husband who is super active try’s to understand.

1 ReactionIn reply to Evenity side effects in the leg. I have had three months of the injections. The first two months,I had a little joint and muscle pain in my right hip area, and thigh. I thought it was just a result of my physical therapy, recommended after my first spinal fracture at T5.
The third Evenity injections have worsened it,to the point it is very uncomfortable all day,I can get relief if I lay down.I am 74 and I have never had any hip/ leg pain in my life,so it could be the Evenity. My endo suggested I stop Evenity and lock in my gains with Reclast. Hoping the hip and leg pain goes away. My best to everyone in this situation.
